Ernestine I. Manchester, 82, of Clinton, died
Friday, June 15, 2001, in Herrick Memorial
Hospital, Tecumseh. She was born on Sept. 6,
1918, in Dowagiac, to the late John and Florence
(Gurden) Conklin. On Dec. 11, 1937, she married
Delmar Manchester, and he survives. She was a
member of and very active with OES, Clinton, and
enjoyed needlework.In addition to her husband,
she is survived by one daughter, Sandra McGuire
of Naperville,Ill.; three grandchildren, David
(Patty) McGuire, Robert (Ian Wisinger) McGuire,
and Christine McGuire; and one great-grandson,
Layton McGuire.She was preceded in death by her
parents; three brothers; and two
sisters.Graveside services were held Monday at
Riverside Cemetery, Clinton with the Rev. Seal
Janeway officiating. Memorials may be made to
Herrick Memorial Hospital.Funeral arrangements
were made by the Clinton Chapel of
Couture-Handler Funeral Homes.
